About the Role

We are actively seeking a dedicated Occupational Health Nurse to join our team. As the Occupational Health Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the health and well-being of our workforce. This role is vital in promoting a healthy and safe working environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular health assessments and medical examinations for employees.
  • Provide medical treatment and emergency care as necessary.
  • Develop and implement occupational health and safety programs.
  • Manage health records, maintain confidentiality, and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Offer guidance on health-related issues and preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with safety officers to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in the company’s wellness initiatives.
  • Utilize electronic health record systems and occupational health software for accurate data entry, reporting, and trend analysis.
  •  Prepare incident and health statistic reports using computer applications.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Nurse with specialized training in occupational health.
  • Strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Valid nursing license.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Computer skills-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experienced with electronic health record (EHR) or occupational health management systems.
  • Emergency response- Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Ability to perform basic health data analysis, identify trends, and recommend preventive measures.
  • Knowledge of health risk assessment methodologies and fitness-for-duty evaluations.
  • Experience working with diverse, multicultural teams, with sensitivity to local Tanzanian contexts.
  • Strong decision-making skills, especially when handling medical emergencies in a remote mine setting.
  • Familiarity with Tanzanian occupational health legislation and mining industry health standards
